Driving Supply Chain Efficiency Through Integrated Part Load Transportation

PART LOAD TRANSPORTATION

Fleet Deployment • Warehouse Management • Shipment Management • Inventory Control

Customer : Right Tight Fasteners Pvt. Ltd. (RTF)

Origin Plants : Nashik • Sinnar • Pantnagar

Destinations : Tata Motors Ltd. – Lucknow & Jamshedpur

KEY CHALLENGES

RTF operates across multiple manufacturing locations and supplies automotive components to Tata Motors. Managing part-load transportation across multiple plants and destinations required a highly coordinated logistics operation with strong control over fleet availability, warehouse operations, inventory accuracy, and shipment visibility.

The key operational challenges included:

Vehicle Availability & Daily Collection

Ensuring timely availability of suitable vehicles based on daily shipment volumes and production schedules, while collecting materials from multiple RTF manufacturing plants and transporting them to the consolidation warehouse.

Inventory Complexity

Managing thousands of automotive part numbers requiring invoice-wise segregation, systematic handling, accurate inventory records, and destination-specific loading.

Fluctuating Shipment Volumes

Managing changing shipment volumes while efficiently utilizing warehouse space, vehicle capacity, and dispatch resources for multiple destinations.

End-to-End Shipment Visibility

Maintaining complete visibility of invoice-wise inventory, part-wise stock, vehicle movement, and dispatch status to support the Just-in-Time (JIT) requirements of Tata Motors.

 Coordinated Logistics Operations

Coordinating multiple stages of the logistics process—from plant pickup and warehouse receipt to consolidation, dispatch, vehicle tracking, and final delivery—while maintaining documentation accuracy and service reliability.

OUR SOLUTIONS

To address these challenges, Citi Link Logistics implemented an integrated Part Load Transportation model covering fleet deployment, warehouse management, inventory control, shipment consolidation, and real-time shipment monitoring.

Dedicated Fleet Network

Citi Link established a dedicated local fleet network comprising Pickups, LCVs, and vehicles up to 18 MT capacity, ensuring continuous vehicle availability and uninterrupted daily collections based on production and shipment schedules.

Systematic Warehouse Management

A dedicated warehouse team was deployed to manage unloading, invoice verification, indexed inventory management, LR generation, and part-number-wise stock tracking before dispatch.

This ensured that every shipment was systematically received, recorded, stored, and prepared for onward transportation.

Indexed Inventory Management

An indexed inventory management process was implemented to maintain accurate invoice-wise and part-number-wise stock records, providing complete traceability across multiple collection points.

Dynamic Dispatch Planning

Citi Link implemented dynamic warehouse and dispatch planning based on real-time stock availability, shipment requirements, load consolidation, route planning, and demand-based vehicle deployment.

This helped optimize warehouse space, fleet utilization, and dispatch capacity.

Real-Time Shipment Monitoring

Daily invoice-wise and part-number-wise inventory reports were shared with the customer, while vehicle movement was monitored in real time.

Continuous coordination was maintained between customer plants, warehouse operations, booking branches, and delivery teams to ensure smooth shipment execution.

 Standardized Logistics Process

The complete logistics cycle was standardized, covering:

Pickup → Warehouse Receipt → Inventory Verification → Consolidation → Dispatch Planning → Vehicle Tracking → Delivery → POD Management → Performance Review

This created a structured and consistent process for every shipment.
